We help community development organizations, lending partners and socially motivated investors accomplish goals in underserved communities. We fill gaps in community development funding by leveraging capital from public and private sector organizations and bringing expertise to communities that need it most.

Since 1993, Cinnaire has funded affordable housing developments and community development initiatives throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states. Headquartered in Lansing Michigan, we have offices in Detroit and Grand Rapids, MI:, Milwaukee and Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; and Wilmington, DE, while providing financial and development support across our nine-state footprint including Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.

 

Summary

The Vice President, Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Cinnaire. The Vice President is responsible for implementing strategic plans, streamlining processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all business lines and operational functions. In addition, the Vice President is responsible for leading and motivating teams to effectuate operational changes that are crucial for Cinnaire’s success.

Responsibilities

  1. Develops and implements operational strategies. Creates and executes comprehensive operational strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvement and cost reduction across all operational functions.
  2. Drives process improvement initiatives. Identifies and implements process improvement initiatives across all operational areas to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Streamlines processes, reduces waste, and optimizes resource allocation to achieve operational excellence.
  3. Drives innovation and continuous improvement. Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization. Encourages and support new ideas, technologies, and methodologies that enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
  4. Leads and manages the operations teams. Builds and develops a high-performing operations team capable of executing the company’s strategic vision. Provides strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to managers and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  5. Monitors and analyzes operational performance. Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitors operational performance against set targets. Analyzes data and trends to identify areas for improvement and takes appropriate action to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Collaborates with the finance team to develop and manage operational budgets. Monitors expenses, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and ensures financial objectives are met while maintaining operational excellence.
  7. Ensures compliance and risk management. Develops and maintains operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks and minimize potential business disruptions.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of a Community Development Finance Organization’s operations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of budget management and financial principles

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Chief Operation Officer

Supervisory Relationship: Manager, Operations

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Travel Required: 10%
