Background

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) and its grassroots member organizations create opportunities for people to build wealth. We work with community leaders, policymakers and financial institutions to champion fairness in banking, housing and business. NCRC was formed in 1990 by national, regional and local organizations to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. NCRC has grown into an association of more than 600 community-based organizations in 42 states that promote access to basic banking services, affordable housing, entrepreneurship, job creation and vibrant communities for America’s working families.

Summary

The Conference & Event Specialist provides vital support to NCRC’s events, ensuring that logistics and planning support the strategic purposes of the organization and allows the organization to leverage events to convene and equip our members and stakeholders. This role will provide support across NCRC’s national Just Economy Conference, regional events and virtual events. The specialist will work closely with the Membership & Events Director and Conference & Events Manager to plan and execute NCRC’s event work, including but not limited to speaker management, managing produced materials. The specialist will play a key role in marketing events and ensure that attendee data is effectively collected, analyzed and leveraged. The role acts as a liaison to departments across the organization, including Communications, Development, Training, Policy, Organizing & Advocacy, Accounting and IT.

This position is based in DC as part of a hybrid environment with 2 days in the office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning, marketing and execution of webinars and other events to provide education and training to members.
  • Support Conference & Events Manager to manage vendor relationships, deliverables and payments.
  • Coordinate the collection and distribution of information between event speakers and NCRC staff.
  • Integrate event data with CRM (HubSpot or similar), ensuring that contacts collected through events are appropriately added, tracked and pursued.
  • Provide logistical support to meetings and events taking place at NCRC’s office building.
  • Generate reports and analysis for a variety of internal and external stakeholders on membership and events data.
  • Work with IT team to apply technology solutions to CRM management, member benefits & communication needs.
  • Improve and maintain internal business processes for events, including data, reporting, administrative, and other processes as necessary.
  • Draft a variety of written materials, including emails, blog posts, letters, proposals and plans.
  • Participate in platform/software selection and onboarding process.
  • Oversee the set-up of registration and other conference and summit materials.
  • Oversee collection and analysis of event evaluations.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public policy, economics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit program management, membership association or event management work.
  • Strong familiarity and expertise with Excel, Insightly or other CRM platforms, survey platforms, Cvent and other events platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range:$65,000.00 To 73,000.00 Annually
