Marisa’s Candidate Statement

I would be honored to serve on the OFN Board of Directors, and in asking for your vote, I would like to share a little bit about my background and the value I believe I can bring to the board.

For the past two years, I have served in two roles at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition – as executive director of our CDFI, the NCRC Community Development Fund, and as NCRC’s chief of community finance and mobility.

In my time leading the NCRC Community Development Fund, we’ve grown from an organization with no dedicated staff to a still modest but growing team of talented, primarily BIPOC, professionals recruited into the CDFI industry; last year we were named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the World for, among other things, our work deploying millions of dollars to entrepreneurs of color who were negatively affected by the pandemic. And in my role with NCRC, I spearhead several programs aimed at advancing economic mobility for communities impacted by systemic inequality and divestment.
