Background
Florida Community Loan Fund (FCLF) is a nonprofit lending institution providing capital and expertise to make projects successful and help organizations improve lives and low-income communities throughout the Sunshine State. Established in 1994, FCLF operates statewide from a network of offices in Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale. FCLF financing has helped more than 240 organizations succeed in their projects, providing over 2,200,000 Floridians annually with housing and social services through 460+ lending transactions to projects totaling over $1.68 billion. FCLF became Florida’s first certified statewide Community Development Financial Institution in 1996 and has been certified as a Community Development Entity since 2004.
Currently, FCLF has over $150 million in total assets, a staff of 20, and an operating budget of $8.8 million. It has a growing loan portfolio of over $115 million and has closed $391 million in New Markets Tax Credit Investments. FCLF Strategic Plan emphasizes significant growth, and we are adding staff to keep pace with this growth.
Summary
The Loan Portfolio Administrator supports the efficient management and servicing of FCLF’s community development loan portfolio. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate loan records, processing loan disbursements and payments, monitoring compliance with loan terms, and ensuring data integrity across loan systems. The Loan Portfolio Administrator works closely with Lending and Finance to support reporting, risk monitoring, and operational workflows throughout the life of each loan. This role requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and commitment to FCLF’s mission of driving positive economic and social impact in underserved communities across Florida.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review drafts of loan commitment letters with Community Development Loan Officers.
- Prepare all commercial real estate loan documents and ensure all required due diligence items, including but not limited to title, survey, ESAs, property condition reports, and appraisals, are reviewed and compliant before loan closing and disbursement of funds.
- Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, title companies, attorneys, other lenders, municipalities, etc. Maintain ongoing communication with FCLF’s attorneys to ensure adequate legal assistance with loan closings, when required.
- Review borrower and third-party information and process advances on construction loans and other line of credit facilities.
- Ongoing tracking of construction loan agreements and covenants. Identification of borrowers not in compliance with loan agreements and responsible for completing the appropriate follow-up with delinquent borrowers.
- Consistently maintain borrower contact information, insurance information, financial statements, UCC-1 financing statements, and any other time-sensitive documentation for each loan file.
- Perform periodic site visits to project sites to monitor construction and/or the ongoing viability of the project or collateral.
- Assist with resolving audit issues, the collection and reporting of data, and measuring the social impact of loans made via close interaction with the FCLF Finance Department.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering a commercial real estate loan portfolio.
- Minimum 5 years of experience closing commercial loans and proficient in creating and reviewing legal loan documentation.
- Experience in, or knowledge of, affordable housing, community development finance, and the nonprofit industry preferred.
- Ability to keep accurate records and excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 with an emphasis on advanced Excel skills. Experience working with one or more commercial loan portfolio management software programs.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $60,200 – $91,200
