This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.
Summary
Opportunity Finance Network is looking to fill the position of Information Technology Intern. The IT Intern will support the IT & Facilities team in reviewing, maintaining, and modernizing OFN’s internal IT documentation, systems, and support processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various facets of IT operations, policy management, and Salesforce platform support. The intern will work closely with the SVP of IT and Facilities, as well as collaborate with the Salesforce Associate and other staff.
Responsibilities
IT Operations Support
- Review, edit, and organize existing IT policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Store finalized documents in a centralized SharePoint location for staff-wide access
- Assist with IT asset inventory management and tracking
- Review IT service contracts, identify key dates/terms, and help maintain a contract tracker
- Support exploration of new technical tools and initiatives by conducting research and feasibility analysis
Salesforce & Systems Support (Under Salesforce Associate)
- Assist with bulk data updates using Salesforce DataLoader
- Generate and maintain reports and dashboards in Salesforce, Power BI, and Tableau
- Provide first-level Salesforce troubleshooting and end-user support
- Help create and maintain FormAssembly forms and validate data flows
- Perform basic user account maintenance across systems (create/deactivate users, adjust permissions)
- Support onboarding and offboarding tasks related to IT and Salesforce access
- Develop and update documentation for IT and Salesforce-related processes
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Current student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Excel
- Interest or experience in Salesforce, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus
- Ability to follow written documentation and contribute to process improvement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Hybrid work schedule with flexible hours (5–10 hours per week)
- Some onsite presence required at OFN’s Washington, DC office
- Intern will be provided a laptop and necessary system access
- Must adhere to OFN’s IT and data security policies
Compensation and Benefits
This is a three-month paid internship that will average 5-10 hours per week. $25/ hour
