Summary

ECDI is looking for a Financial Analyst for our Columbus headquarters.

The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing various activities within the Fiscal department. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing treasury reports and analyses for internal and external parties, journal entries for the organization, executing daily cash and loan payment pulls, performing accounting functions within various financial systems, audit inquiries, and backup of other core treasury functions. This individual interacts with the Lending and Loan Processing departments to identify funding for loan disbursements. They will assist the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis in managing assets through a methodology to maximize the allocation of funding sources for individual small business loans.

This position is a hybrid role and will spend time in-office for collaborative work and projects, as determined by manager and business need.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, Lending, and program areas on all grantor and funder audits and financial management function related to ECDI grants and contracts.
  • Update forecasts and report on actuals for various finance and lending items.
  • Update Funds Available report to lend and report to leadership.
  • Support the administration of the loan disbursement files and reconciliation of systems.
  • Assist the Treasury team in managing and monitoring cash movement, cash disbursements, cash projections, and forecasts.
  • Ensure journal entries are uploaded into financial system.
  • Provide reporting to SBA and others as required.
  • Respond to audit inquiries in a timely manner; as required, make calls to the bank directly to clarify adjustments or to clarify items on the bank statements in order to reconcile activity or properly code it.
  • Maintain compliance with policies and procedures to assure consistent, timely, and seamless continuity of programs and services to clients.
  • Assist Fiscal, Lending, and program staff with audit preparations including annual independent audit and all funder audits.
  • Enter journal entries into the financial system for bank account transactions.
  • Contribute to ensuring activities posted to both cash and clearing general ledger accounts are reviewed and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the processing of loan payment pulls and reconcile with financial systems.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to all ECDI policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings and provides feedback for improvement for the department.
  • Perform other related activities, as required, to assure department and organizational success.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Computer Skills:
    • Experience with and knowledge of computer operation.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    • Experience with financial accounting systems required.
    • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
    • Proficient understanding of database or CRM systems required.
    • Experience working with multiple online banking systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and techniques.

Education and/r Experience:

  • Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another related field AND two or more (2+) years of relevant work experience .

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional after hours and travel required.

Other:

  • This position is a hybrid role and will spend time in-office for collaborative work and projects, as determined by manager and business need.
  • Must have access to transportation in order to travel to and from the office.
  • Typically, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time. The person in this position will occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and computer printer.
  • Positions self to move items up to 15 pounds, such as printer paper boxes across the office as needed.
  • Must avoid risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting annual salary range for this position is $53,000-64,000. Candidates for this position must be located in the Central Ohio Area.
