Summary
The Director of Impact is primarily responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of the Company’s programs to ensure impact is measured. The Director of Impact plays a key role in helping Clearinghouse CDFI remain true to its triple bottom line – people, profit, and planet. This position makes recommendations and executes strategies to enhance the Company’s approach to all social responsibility issues, including community impact, accountability and transparency, and environmental efforts. The Director of Impact is responsible for contributing and framing organizational strategy development, as well as ensuring current and future strategies is effectively implemented, monitoring progress, managing, and mitigating risk. The Director of Impact oversees the company’s social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, chairs the cross-departmental B Corp Committee, supervises the Impact department, represents Clearinghouse CDFI at external B Corp events, and manages CSR relationships with external parties and consultants, including B Lab and other social enterprise relationships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manages the Impact Department using independent judgment with respect to the creation and implementation of impact strategic initiatives.
- Craft CSR initiatives and develop strategy to successfully implement initiative.
- Manage goals, metrics, and leads B Corp Committee and B Corp Certification.
- Oversee and develop the Annual Benefit/Impact Report.
- Manage external and internal impact reporting and continuously improves processes and procedures of impact reporting. Work closely with the Finance Department to report to investors, CDFI Fund, and other organizations.
- Manage processes and write grant proposals and other applications. Determine and develop business strategies for various grants/applications, including CDFI Fund Financial Assistance Award, Capital Magnet Fund, NMTC Application, and other private grant opportunities.
- Manages, track, and analyze community impact resulting from Company’s lending efforts, and continuously improves process and procedures.
- Oversee the creation and execution of various internal and external impact reports, including case studies, borrower surveys, and quarterly and annual reports to management.
- Manages annual compliance reporting for CDFI and CDE, including CIIS Reporting, FA Award Reporting, FVLCRUM and other investor reporting.
- Oversee project impact data of borrowers in Company’s loan servicing software (NLS) and NMTC compliance software (Ariel). Works to improve efficiency and effectiveness of software used.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with Master’s (MPH, MBA, MA/MS) preferred.
- 7 years of professional experience in a related discipline, including 3+ years’ experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, or related field required.
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and impact management.
