Summary

This is an opportunity for an ambitious professional to take charge, drive revenue, and establish a new market from the ground up, leading SBC’s expansion into the business support ecosystem across Southern Appalachia and the Southeast. The primary states of focus include TN, GA, NC, SC, FL, AL, and MS.

This is a fully remote, self-managed role with a starting salary and bonus of approximately $70,000. The goal is for this position to evolve into the Director of Southeast Markets, with full leadership responsibilities and six-figure compensation as you achieve market expansion goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and researching leads to uncover new opportunities and align with market needs.
  • Developing a strong presence in the regional economic development, CDFI, SBDC, Women’s Business Center, and business support ecosystems to identify and cultivate long-term productive partnerships.
  • Managing and executing social media pages to drive engagement, enhance brand awareness, and generate new leads.
  • Overseeing HubSpot email outreach campaigns, including crafting messages, managing campaigns, and measuring effectiveness.
  • Setting and following up on appointments with potential and current partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Attending conferences, networking events, and other industry gatherings to promote the organization, build relationships, and secure new opportunities.
  • Driving revenue generation through the acquisition of new partners, new projects, and expansion into new geographic markets.

Requirements

  • A business development professional with a proven track record of growing revenue and closing deals.
  • Looking to build new opportunities for growth and career advancement.
  • A recognized player in the economic development ecosystem, with experience working with CDFIs, SBDCs, WBCs, ecosystem builders, grant-awarding agencies, or similar organizations.
  • Entrepreneurial and results-driven, able to execute immediate sales strategies while building long-term relationships and taking full ownership of the market.
  • Preferably located near Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, or Chattanooga, TN.
