Capital Link is a non-profit organization that has worked with hundreds of health centers and primary care associations (PCAs) for nearly 30 years to plan for sustainability and growth, access capital, improve and optimize operations and financial management, and articulate value. We provide an extensive range of services, customized according to need, with the goal of strengthening health centers—financially and operationally—in a rapidly changing marketplace.

The majority of our clients are Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), a group of over 1,400 non-profit, community-directed organizations that provide primary and preventive health care to patients nationwide without regard to insurance status or their ability to pay for care. FQHCs are a vital component of the country’s health system, serving low-income and patients in rural and urban communities.

Summary

Accounting Analyst (Remote)

Capital Link and Capital Fund are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst responsible for day-to-day accounting operations and month-end/year-end closing transactions. This role reports to the Finance Director and requires working closely with other team members to streamline financial processes, manage cash flows, and maintain compliance with financial regulations. This is a full-time, remote position.

Responsibilities

Monthly Closing Process:

  • Assist with financial statement preparation, audit preparation, and month end/year-end transaction processing.
  • Record accruals, AP/ AR, depreciation, prepaids, and payroll entries.
  • Process intercompany transactions against the Memorandum of Agreement.
  • Process loan portfolio activities against the Portfolio Balance Report.
  • Process AMEX and expense reimbursement reports for all staff to ensure accurate coding.
  • Record CDE transactions against amortization schedules.
  • Support team with payments, grant tracking, financial due diligence, and monitoring portfolio balances.
  • Manage cash flow. Prepare wire transfers and ACH transactions, ensuring proper authorization protocols are followed.

Financial Statement and Audit:

  • Provided month-end close support, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting research.
  • Coordinated annual audits and form 990; prepared and coordinated preparation for annual reports.

Primary IT Systems:

  • General Ledger: Business Central (Microsoft Suite)
  • Budgeting Software: SAGE Intacct
  • Loan System: Nortridge Loan Servicing

Authorities:

  • Ensure the privacy of all Personal Identifiable Information (PII) obtained from employees, clients, and other sources, and protect such information from unauthorized disclosure.
  • Oversee transactions and approvals in the normal course of business, including borrower principal and interest payments.
  • Research new circumstances and propose accounting treatment consistent with GAAP and/or other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Five years of versatile accounting experience, preferably in non-profits, lending institutions, public accounting, and/or internal audit.
  • Audit experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing financial scenarios in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency with Sage Intacct (preferred) and/or other accounting software such as MIP and NetSuite.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions, including the ability to maintain information confidentiality.
  • Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and desire to achieve.
  • Effective electronic communications.
  • Capability to adjust and demonstrate flexibility in delivering superior internal customer service.
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills and effective time management to succeed in a semi-autonomous, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, file share systems, and Contact Relationship Management applications.
