Financial and Social Impact

  • CSH’s projects have supported more than 75,000 in technical and lending assistance and more than 50,000 adult and children have been housed

The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) has a history of addressing the unique challenges of supportive housing in rural communities. Recently CSH took their innovative approach to the Rutherford House, a 16-unit apartment complex in Lancaster, OH. Rutherford House uses a housing first approach, connecting families with the appropriate level of support after they are housed. Families placed in the house pay 30 percent of their income for rent, and have access to voluntary services—including financial counseling, job counseling, and healthcare referrals.

CSH provided technical assistance and a $50,000 loan for pre-development support of the project.
