Impact Investments Bring Affordable Renewable Energy to Maine Towns
OFN member Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) recently partnered with conservation organization The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to help finance the installation of a new solar array in Tremont, Maine, that will generate 100 percent of the electricity needed for the town’s municipal buildings.
CEI and TNC’s innovative impact investment structure significantly reduces the cost of solar projects, making renewable energy accessible and affordable for communities. CEI has developed a specialty in solar power, financing 7.1 MW of total solar production to date through 25 projects in Maine and New Hampshire.
