DIRECTOR, COMPLIANCE (Hybrid)

Position Overview – Ignite your career as the Director of Compliance at Pew!

In this role , you’ll assist i n elements o f our Enterprise Risk Management program, drive internal assessments, and shape policy evaluation. This is your chance to advise cross-functional teams, bolster internal controls, and ensure compliance with a dynamic array of laws and regulations. We’re seeking a visionary with a strong background in risk-based audit strategies, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate with passion and precision.

Responsibilities

    • Blaze a trail by maturing and managing a n Enterprise Risk Management program that keeps us compliant with laws and regulations.
    • Chart a course for success in risk management and compliance processes, designing strategies that align our policies with the ever-changing legal landscape.
    • Fuel efficiency within our Enterprise Risk Management program, tackling emerging risk challenges head-on and delivering proactive solutions.
    • Set the stage for collaboration and innovation, enhancing our risk advisory services to departments through targeted and strategic planning.
    • Be the catalyst for change by initiating and facilitating high-energy meetings with cross-departmental teams, ensuring the implementation of approved recommendations.
    • Take center stage as a vital member of cross-departmental projects and leadership teams, driving the integration of risk management strategies across the organization.
    • Forge powerful partnerships with departments institutio n -wide, championing compliance and providing expert guidance on applicable laws.
    • Lead the way in maturing pillars of our institution’s whistleblower program.
    • Lead a star-studded team of seasoned compliance and audit professionals, guiding them to excellence and fostering a culture of success.
    • Shine as the second-level reviewer, ensuring the quality and accuracy of work produced by the unit, and taking the lead when necessary.
    • Conduct strategic collaboration with third-party vendors, expertly managing their contributions to our compliance unit.
    • Unleash your analytical prowess by developing and overseeing process and control evaluations , safeguarding adherence to company-wide and department-specific policies.
    • Illuminate the organization with institution-wide and role-based training programs, sharing your expertise on critical policies and empowering teams.

Requirements

    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in risk-based audit strategies and a thorough understanding of finance, accounting, and audit practices.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-organizational teams.
    • Experience in evaluating various business strategies and identifying patterns in complex situations.
    • Minimum of ten years of professional experience, including staff, project, and/or consultant management.
    • Mix of public accounting (preferably big four) and auditing experience required .
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required . CPA or other relevant certification is required .
    • Experience managing internal and external auditing engagements.

Travel

This position requires some travel to conferences, meetings, and Pew’s other offices.
