Why OFN Built the CEO Summit, and Why We Are Just Getting Started

Read time: 3 minutes

In April, OFN brought together CDFI chief executives for the inaugural OFN CEO Summit—a unique, first-of-its-kind peer convening.

Held in Nashville, the Summit was built around one premise: leading a CDFI right now is complex, high-pressure work, and it is not something CEOs should have to navigate alone.

Over two and a half days, CEOs engaged in curated networking and candid, confidential peer dialogue on the decisions that define this moment—navigating uncertainty without full information, sustaining themselves and their institutions, and leading through change.

The Summit also featured two renowned speakers: Dr. Modupe Akinola of Columbia Business School, whose research on stress and executive decision-making gave participants practical frameworks for leading under pressure; and Dr. Katy Milkman of the Wharton School, whose work on behavioral science and change offered CEOs a new lens for making meaningful shifts stick.

The inaugural OFN CEO Summit was designed to build a stronger community of CDFI chief executives and create space for honest, practical exchange. This first summit reinforced the value of that space, and we’re looking forward to continuing to curate and support this community.
