What We’re Watching: HOPE Enterprise Corporation on Today

“Access to safe and affordable financial services is vital, especially among families with limited wealth‑‑whether they are looking to invest in education, start a business, or simply manage the ups and downs of life,” said Jerome H. Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, last week at HOPE Enterprise Corporation’s Rural Places, Rural Spaces forum.

NBC’s Today picked up on his words and Hope’s work to bring these services to “bank deserts.” On February 18, the show looked at the scarcity of banks in some communities across the country and featured Hope Credit Union as a solution to filling the financial services gap in Moorhead, Mississippi.

Congratulations to HOPE CEO Bill Bynum and the entire HOPE team across the Mid-South for helping to bring national media attention to the financial services gap and CDFIs as solution providers.
