Three OFN Member CDFIs Named in Top 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For

Recently NonProfit Times, a leading publication for nonprofit managers, named three OFN member CDFIs among its top 50 best places to work in 2021. Selected by the publication in partnership with Best Companies Group, leading organizations were evaluated through a two-part survey process across a number of categories, including leadership and planning, pay and benefits, culture and communications, work environment, and overall engagement.

Congratulations to the following OFN member CDFIs:

  • Capital Impact Partners
  • Century Housing Corporation
  • Cinnaire

“We’re on a journey that has neither a beginning nor an end,” shared Kim Dorsett, chief HR at Capital Impact Partners, who ranked 19th overall and 8th in the medium-sized category. “We have facilitated formal training in regards to unconscious bias, emotional intelligence, and race relations, and we’re developing a glossary to assist employees.”

NonProfit Times also specifically highlighted Century Housing Corporation (CHC)’s practice of rewarding employees with certificates and cash awards on special occasions. For example, CHC provides employees who become U.S. citizens with an American flag and $1,000 cash gift. “It’s another way to reward our employees with cash but also recognize those people who step forward, take the test, and become citizens,” said Fern Hendrickson, CHC’s vice president of HR.
