The Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Team, Corp dba WESST is a 501(c)(3) statewide nonprofit organization and New Mexico’s second largest economic development organization. WESST’s mission is to be a home to New Mexicans starting or growing a small business. We provide a support system of consulting, training, incubation and lending to help women, people of color and low-wealth individuals successfully strengthen and grow their businesses through sustainable sales, financial knowledge, and job creation. With a 35-year history of serving diverse New Mexicans, WESST offers comprehensive business development services from the pre-startup stage through growth and repositioning.
Headquartered in Albuquerque, WESST serves the entire state through its regional office network in Farmington, Hobbs, Las Cruces, Rio Rancho, Roswell and Santa Fe. In 2009, WESST opened the WESST Enterprise Center (WEC), a certified mixed-use small business incubator in downtown Albuquerque that accelerates the development of growth-oriented companies. WESST has been a long-time resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration and hosts six SBA Women’s Business Centers in New Mexico. WESST is also an SBA Microlender and a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution).
Summary
WESST is seeking a new President to lead the organization and implement its mission and strategic vision bringing value to small business clients and New Mexican communities. The President is responsible for overseeing the operations, finances, programs, fundraising and external relations of WESST. The President will report to and work closely with the WESST Board of Directors, staff, donors and stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of WESST.

Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience and background in non-profit management, fundraising and economic development; Successful track record in fundraising and development; Experience in nonprofit finance and budgeting; Strong organizational, presentation, management and communication skills, both verbal and written. A bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public or business administration, community and/or economic development – Masters degree preferred. Bilingual language skills preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation includes a hiring range of $135k to $150k plus a full benefits package.
