Summary
The People Officer SVP is responsible for developing and executing the human resource strategy to support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of all areas of People Operations that affect the employee experience and organizational culture. The SVP provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team and the board of directors. This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the division and indirectly responsible for all employees within the division.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Human Resources strategy and vision, including planning and updating programs implemented throughout the organization.
- Direct strategic workforce planning and implement talent management programs that reflect organizational needs including recruiting, hiring, retention and development programs.
- Design appropriate employee recognition and engagement programs.
- Serve as subject matter expert on all aspects of Human Resources, including Talent Acquisition and Development, Benefits, Compensation, HR Systems and Analytics, Learning & Development, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ), and Employee Engagement.
- Develop and implement HR programs that effectively communicate and support the credit union’s mission and strategic vision, supporting organizational change efforts and internal programs that connect employees to LCCU’s vision.
- Partner with senior management to address day-to-day HR operational issues such as employee relations, compensation reviews, escalated benefits issues, performance management and training.
- Investigate claims of misconduct and escalate as necessary to the Risk Department and CEO as required. Provide insightful crisis management advice when required.
- Implement and manage compliance with all employment laws and regulations that govern all aspects of the employee life cycle, including internal/external investigations, and consult with outside counsel as needed.
- Ensure that employee policies and programs are inclusive; recommend changes and implements additional inclusive policies and programs.
- Work with the company’s executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the organization.
- Act as an employee champion and change agent by anticipating HR-related needs and delivering value added services for the benefit of the employees.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans and structure for employees and executives.
- Develop and manage annual budgets for the department and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.
- Supervise human resources, benefits administration, and development staff.
- Perform other projects as needed.
