Background

Through Virtual CFO Services, we provides fractional or project-based services to nonprofits that need a higher level of financial strategy and analysis than they have resources for on a full-time basis.

Summary

  • ·         Apply skills as a financial leader to assist Virtual CFO clients with thought leadership on accounting, financial, goal setting, and general advisory aspects of the client’s business.
  • ·         Advise and manage Virtual CFO clients on multi-year financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy, including the creation of multi-year financial models.
  • ·         Provide strategy and process to assist Clients in taking their organization to the next level of financial performance and security.
  • ·         Communicate clearly, based on the understanding level of the audience, the financial position of an organization, and the impact of future decisions on said financial position to Client Executive Directors, Senior Leadership, Boards, Finance Committees, and Auditors.

Responsibilities

Interact with CEOs/Executive Directors at a peer level, listening, learning, and asking relevant questions to determine the core issues in an organization

  • ·         Accounting guidance
  • ·         Advising appropriate use of software applications
  • ·         Development of budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators
  • ·         Process improvement, standard operating procedures, and nonprofit/CDFI industry-specific best practices
  • ·         Coordinate and participate in annual organization planning and strategies
  • ·         Adapt to client needs by providing immediate short-term solutions while working toward the implementation of long-term goals
  • ·         Set and meet defined deadlines on projects with Clients
  • Provide bookkeeping assistance or oversee staff/contract labor to provide bookkeeping services

Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field required, accounting degree preferred

Experience:  7+ years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a lead finance/accounting position, extensive experience with Excel
