Multi-Family Housing Loan Officer, Commercial Lending

Founded in 2016, our nonprofit is the direct result of the merger of three established community development financial institutions (CDFI’s) with decades of combined experience. Capital for Change (C4C) has grown to be the largest full-service CDFI in Connecticut. With support from our community-minded investors and partners, we create high impact lending programs and products that help develop affordable housing, increase energy efficiency, and nurture small businesses and nonprofits.

Summary

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Lending, the Multi-Family Housing Loan Officer position has an administrative and a lending focus. The Officer assists the Director in maintaining and implementing a lending strategy, policies, and products to achieve our mission and Board designated Ends. The Officer aids in department operations including pipeline tracking, loan documentation, closings and funding to ensure standardized and efficient loan processing in the Department.    Minimum 5 years in CDFIs with an emphasis on affordable commercial lending with extensive multi-family housing lending experience, community and/or economic development, commercial banking, commercial real estate lending, and/or real estate with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility. A concentration in complex multi-family/affordable housing projects is needed. Working with subsidy funding including but not limited to LIHTC, HOME, HTC, and NMTC.

Responsibilities

The Officer also assists with oversight housing subsidy programs with primary responsibility will be to underwrite loans, with a priority and emphasis on multi-family housing, subsidy funds and those with a community development focus.

Requirements

Advanced degree or certifications in business, community development, policy and administration or urban planning preferred.

Bachelor’s degree plus five years additional relevant experience.
