Capital for Change (C4C) has grown to be the largest full-service CDFI in Connecticut. With support from our community-minded investors and partners, we create high impact lending programs and products that help develop affordable housing, increase energy efficiency, and nurture small businesses and nonprofits.
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Lending, the Multi-Family Housing Loan Officer (the “Officer”) position has an administrative and a lending focus. The Officer assists the Director in maintaining and implementing a lending strategy, policies, and products to achieve Capital for Change’s mission and Board designated Ends. The Officer aids in department operations including pipeline tracking, loan documentation, closings and fundings to ensure standardized and efficient loan processing in the Department. The Officer also assists with oversight of C4C’s housing subsidy programs. The Officer primary responsibility will be to underwrite loans, with a priority and emphasis on multi-family housing, subsidy funds and those with a community development focus.
- With the Director, the Officer will ensure that C4C’s products and activities evolve continuously to meet the needs of the communities and Target Markets it serves. Research and evaluate feasibility of new lending products. Aid Director in developing and implementing plans for expansion of lending programs. Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in the way that serves the needs of C4C’s target market and maintains competitiveness in product design and delivery.
- With the Director, the Officer will ensure that loans are structured in compliance with C4C credit policies and underwriting practices.
- Aid Director and Commercial Loan team with operational activities within the Department including maintaining necessary policies, checklists, systems, and reports to assure standardization of pipeline tracking, loan documentation, closing activities, construction funding, delinquencies, workouts and other administrative activities.
Advanced degree or certification in business, community development, police and administration or urban planning preferred. Bachelor’s degree plus five years additional relevant experience may substitute.
Minimum 5 years of experience in CDFI’s, community and/or economic development commercial banking, commercial real estate lending, and or real estate with track record of growth and increasing responsibility. A concentration in complex multi-family/affordable housing projects is needed.
Compensation and Benefits
$78000.00 – $80000.00 annual
