Commonwealth is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to join the Marketing and Strategic Partnerships (MSP) team. The role will be part of a passionate, highly cross-functional team dedicated to supporting Commonwealth’s mission of creating systemic change for financially vulnerable people. This individual will work closely with the Senior Vice President, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement and other members of the communications team and will be accountable for developing and achieving key marketing and communications objectives through strategy development, planning, integrated campaign ideation and hands-on execution. The right person for this role has a roll up your sleeves/get the work done mentality. • Working with the Senior Vice President and gaining input from other internal stakeholders research, execute campaigns and marketing plans that raise Commonwealth’s profile and brand recognition
• Develop targeted messaging and marketing campaigns in support of Commonwealth’s strategic plan, digital assets, research, grant requirements, partnerships, and thought leadership
• Manage and move work from marketing and communications strategy to tactical execution
• Manage editorial calendar and accompanying marketing plans and campaigns
• Analyze and report on campaign progress and effectiveness to MSP leadership
• May manage one to two full time employees.
• Manage the work of multiple contractors
• Creatively problem-solve and collaborate with a small, results-oriented team to effectively keep projects on track toward both short-term milestones and long-term strategic objectives
• Contribute to a positive organizational culture through consistent high energy, appetite for learning, and eagerness to collaborate with colleagues.


• Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, journalism, communications or related field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience in marketing from planning to execution
• Supervisory/people management experience (primarily) contractor resources preferred
• Proactive self-starter able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while also working collaboratively with team members
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for design and strong ability to story tell
• Understanding of the overall marketing landscape including digital marketing, traditional marketing, and experimental marketing
• Proven ability to use analytics to analyze performance of marketing campaigns and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Experience in managing multiple projects, contractor and agency relationships including writers, editors/proofreaders, creative, web development, print and promotional materials
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills in coordinating multiple campaigns and their components.
• Strong skills in Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, and Slides), Marketing Automation, Google Analytics, and Hubspot
• Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proven ability to leverage strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to facilitate, negotiate, and influence complex issues and decisions
• Passionate about the mission of Commonwealth and driving social change through promoting financial security and opportunity for the financially vulnerable
• Experience in financial services, fintech, consulting or other B2B environment with complex product offerings for business leaders
