Summary

The Investor Relations Manager builds on Southern Bancorp’s strong reputation and networks in the impact investing market and is responsible for supporting investor relations and service delivery. Extensive fundraising execution experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish and maintain relationships across industry to identify and act on investment opportunities
  • Develop relationship plans for new and existing funders, investors, and shareholders
  • Responsible for preparation of marketing materials, and proposals/pitch documents
  • Prepare investor reporting and deliverables
  • Serve as liaison with internal teams to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Support the organization’s profile through speaking engagements and written materials
  • Develop and manage investor relations department
  • Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to Southern’s mission: to create economic opportunity in underserved communities by providing responsible, responsive, and innovative financial products and services that balance profits with purpose.
  • Knowledge and expertise in emerging markets and/or fundraising for emerging markets
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills, both externally and internally
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Relations or Communications and 3-5 years of progressive experience in investor relations, communications, relationship management or nonprofit fundraising, or an equivalent combination of experience and related advanced degrees. Must also have experience managing a team
  • Ability to operate independently and as leader of business function
  • Experience coaching relationship managers on interactions with prospective and existing investors
  • Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills. Must be able to present ideas, concepts, and technical strategies on an individual or group basis
  • Must possess and maintain current and valid driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
