Background

Mercy Community Capital (MCC) is a certified CDFI and an affiliate of the affordable housing nonprofit Mercy Housing, Inc. MCC works nationally with socially responsible affordable housing and community developers to transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy communities by providing innovative financing arrangements for creditworthy projects for which conventional financing is not available or affordable.

Summary

The Grants and Impact Manager will have a primary responsibility for managing the grant funding and capital impact reporting functions of Mercy Community Capital (MCC): They will possess or develop a broad understanding of the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) sector. This position will be responsible for grants management from inquiry and submission through compliance and impact reporting.  The role will be critical in facilitating the development of internal and external relationships to meet Programmatic, Operations and Lending Capital goals which will lead MCC to further its mission to create more affordable housing opportunities. Responsibilities include management of the organization’s social impact program, data collection initiatives and systems, grants management, and compliance obligations. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Grants Management (50%)

  • Project management of the preparation and submission of grants from private and public (local, state, and federal) funding sources, including applications to the CDFI Fund. This includes tracking progress towards meeting grant goals, coordinating and submitting grant reports, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Research and identify new grant leads and manage the application and preparation process for new resources, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual grant reports, surveys, and other requests for information as needed, including the production and submission of covenant compliance certificates, social impact reports, and other narrative and financial progress reports.
  • Manage the life cycle of grants and investments, from initial inquiries and proposal writing through final reporting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely products to funders.
  • Oversee compliance, tracking, and reporting functions for CDFI Fund awards and annual certification, including tasks on Sam.gov and Grants.gov.
  • Work in the CDFI Fund AMIS system to upload applications and reports and ensure timely submission and acceptance of documents including troubleshooting issues that may arise.

Impact Management (40%)

  • Develop and maintain proficient knowledge of the industry and Mercy Community Capitals’s programs and history.
  • Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of impact data for the organization ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements. This includes maintaining and improving the impact component of the current Salesforce platform.
  • Assess and enhance current impact and outcome measurements and techniques that can use data to create narratives and visuals that show the impact of our work.
  • Research new industry regulations and collaborate with MCC’s lending staff to ensure impact goals are met.
  • Implement and manage impact measures to ensure potential new loans meet requirements of MCC’s mission and investor covenants.
  • Develop effective processes and procedures to maintain accurate and consistent impact data in Salesforce.

 

  • Lead internal and collaborative working groups focused on data management and Salesforce, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead team through impact tracking and goals.

Other (10%)

  • Oversee the organization’s participation in Aeris reviews and other third-party evaluations as needed.
  • Assist with outside communication to borrowers and investors on press releases, newsletters, and annual impact reporting.
  • Stay current on public policy updates and assist MCC in advocacy efforts.

Compensation and Benefits

$80,000 – $100,000
