Way Finders is currently seeking a Director of Rental Assistance ProgramsThe Director of Rental Assistance Programs contributes to our mission by providing expertise in the management, development, and administration of Federal and State rental assistance programs.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work fully onsite.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct and monitor the production of timely and accurate reporting of program requirements, and productivity to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and funding requirements; contribute to budget planning, and monitor fiscal and program performance of all rental assistance programs
  • Implement and achieve the strategic plans that effectively serve clients, funding sources, internal customers, and communities; contribute to the agency’s efforts to affect local, state and federal policy to enhance the programs and organization’s success
  • Coordinate data management issues with IT staff and Program Managers and participate in the development and implementation of inter-departmental reporting and communications systems
  • Compile and analyze data; prepare reports ensuring senior management are kept well informed as to the status of departmental performance
  • Develop, implement, and manage skilled and knowledgeable rental assistance teams, organizational structure, goals and action plans, proposal/grant writing, policy and procedure development
  • Manage staff recruitment, performance evaluation, program specific orientation, teamwork, and staff development through subordinates to ensure the achievement of established program and fiscal objectives
  • Attend and/or provide backup to the Senior Vice President (SVP) as a representative of at state and local provider/funder meetings
  • Assess staff strengths and development needs; develop and implement training and/or action plan to ensure the knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives; provide accurate and timely feedback to supervisees on performance related matters
  • Maintain effective relationships with existing and potential funding sources, local, state and federal officials, and agencies to ensure sufficient collaboration and support for programs and services
  • Proactively identify and inform the SVP of any issues that may adversely affect the programs or the organization
  • Contribute to fostering inter-departmental and inter-agency coordination and communication to ensure alignment with goals and objectives
  • Remain knowledgeable of the most current Rental Assistance regulations as well as all other applicable financial housing assistance programs to meet contractual obligations and ensure staff remain in compliance
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff and departments, owners, landlords, community groups, funding sources, and other housing related departments or agencies to achieve goals
Supervisory Responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Rental Assistance Managers, and the Economic Mobility Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject matter such as social services or public administration; commensurate experience may be a substitute for a degree
  • 5 years’ experience in social services, case management, or management; leadership experience required
  • The ability to organize and priorities the activity of the department
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively and professionally communicate across the organization and with external clients
  • Need to have a strong ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse communities and constituencies
  • Experience with housing and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Proficient in PC based hardware and software programs, particularly MS Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external clients (both written and verbal)
  • Must maintain the following certifications:
    • HCV Financial Management Certification
    • Executive Management Certification
    • HCVP Specialist Certification
    • HCVP PBV Specialist Certification
    •  Supervisory Management Certification

Wage between $59,590 and $75,978 per year depending on qualifications.
