Background

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, a statewide, nonprofit community development financial institution located in Concord, N.H., fights for economic justice to enable traditionally underserved people to participate more fully in New Hampshire’s economy. We do this by providing loans, capital, and technical assistance, and bringing people together to solve community problems. The NH Community Loan Fund has a rich, 39-year history of innovation in NH and the CDFI field.

 

Summary

The Community Loan Fund has an immediate opening for an experienced and dynamic commercial lender to lead our Business and Community Finance team focused on the minority-owned business, clean energy, farm and food, nonprofit facilities, and child care sectors.

The Community Loan Fund has prioritized increasing its investments in Black and Indigenous communities and those of people of color. The Director of Business and Community Finance will help lead that work, as well as leading the overall development and growth of this team in collaboration with the Vice President of Lending.

Responsibilities

The Director of Business and Community Finance is responsible for the coordination and oversight of a team of six staff in business development, loan origination and servicing, underwriting, compliance and operating procedures, and risk management.  A successful Director will be a leader with a record of community impact, and a deep understanding of community-based economic development.

Other major responsibilities include creating short- and long-term production goals and implementation plans, managing staff, helping procure funding for program credit enhancement and loan guarantees from public and private sources, and representing its business lending strategy externally to increase visibility and maintain the Community Loan Fund’s brand as a strategic leader.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on business management or commercial finance experience. Bi-lingual fluency is a plus. Our hybrid work schedule is currently two days a week in the Concord office for collaboration and innovation, with three days choice of remote work optional, so we seek ability to work remotely within commuting distance to Concord, NH.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range starting at $92,000 with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, life insurance, education stipend, and paid sabbatical program.
