Background

The Entrepreneur Fund is an economic development organization committed to growing the regional economy by boosting the abilities of the region’s business owners seeking growth. We actively partner with small business owners to grow their business by providing business loans up to $750,000 and a variety of services to support entrepreneurs in meeting their goals. The Entrepreneur Fund serves 17 counties of northeast Minnesota, central Minnesota, and northwest Wisconsin. Our vision is to have vibrant communities and a diverse regional economy that is created and sustained by entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneur Fund serves 1,300 clients annually and has over $60 million in small business loans under management, with a yearly operating budget of approximately $6 million.

Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new position within the Entrepreneur Fund, necessitated by the strategic growth and success of the organization. The COO will serve as a strong internal leader, supporting the vision of the CEO and fostering an environment of excellence.

Responsibilities

The COO will:

  • Lead and manage internal staff.
  • Hold accountability for P&L outcomes.
  • Manage the timely executions of business and strategic plans.
  • Solve organizational issues.

Requirements

Essential qualifications for this position include:

  • Previous experience supporting Chief Executives and integrating their vision into the company.
  • Demonstrable financial acumen developed from successfully managing a P&L and achieving business goals with economic results.
  • Previous leadership experience involving supporting other professionals and developing an environment of growth and success.
  • Proven experience – or a demonstrated ability & desire to learn – leading or managing the operations or finances of a non-profit lender, financial institution, or Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and will range between $110,000 and $150,000.
