Background

NuVista Federal Credit Union which was originally Montrose Federal Credit Union was established in 1964.  It was built on honesty, integrity, and self-worth.  We hold the same foundation today.  When first opened, the credit union was for federal employees only. Times have changed and we know now that the support the community, as a whole, is what helps us to thrive.  Our name changed in January 2008 to reflect our growth in membership, and our coverage area that is not just limited to Montrose CO.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Montrose, Delta, Gunnison, Ouray and San Miguel counties.

Summary

The Special Initiatives/CDFI Program Director manages all day-to-day administration and management of all grant activities, operations as well as long-range strategy, and program development for the growth of NuVista Federal Credit Union’s (CDFI) programs and special services.  Will build a network of business partners to broaden the Credit Union’s impact in the communities we serve.  This position will investigate and employ multiple sources of funding such as State and Federal programs as well as private Foundations to create programs or products for the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

-Oversees all day-to-day administration and routine work of the Credit Union’s grants and special programs, while utilizing contract grant writers and other service providers for assistance in compliance, tracking and monitoring of grant performance.

-Responsible for all CDFI reporting requirements-ACR and/or Service Requests

-Designs and develops programs or products to apply for upcoming grant opportunities and works with grant writers to prepare and apply for funding.

-Assists and supports in structuring and facilitating credit and non-credit products while demonstrating sound risk management.

-Serves as an ambassador for the Credit Union, developing and deepening strong relationships with organizations and individuals that have an impact or can influence the work of the organization.

-Represents the organization in accordance with the policies and goals of the organization to the community, funders, clients, and strategic partners.  Publicly represents the Credit Union by engaging the media, community organizations, and business networking.  Attends meetings, trainings, seminars and conferences to further develop business networks.

-Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary and appropriate.

Requirements

Experience in executing programs which have successfully improved a communities overall economic position in a positive manner through proven actions that drive results.

Reputation for developing, building, and maintaining a high-level Member service organization.

Strong product knowledge within the financial services industry.

Extensive understanding of grants, knowledge, and experience with financial lending and CDFI programs.

Ability to solve practical problems and find creative solutions.

Self-starter, friendly, work independently, business professional, and team player.

Exceptional organization and communication skills.
