In 1995, LISC launched Rural LISC to expand its reach beyond urban areas to include rural communities. Today, Rural LISC partners with more than 140 rural community-based organizations.  Together we are working to transform communities in more than 2,400 counties across 49 states and Puerto Rico. Summary

Position Description

Rural LISC seeks a self-motivated individual, detail oriented and organized professional to fill the Assistant Program Officer position. The ideal candidate will have high level administrative, coordination, math and computer skills, and ability to handle multiple task and the flexibility to work with a wide variety of personalities and professionals located across the country. The Assistant Program Officer will report to the Rural LISC Senior Program Officer for Finance & Operations.

The Assistant Program Officer is responsible for supporting the finance team with day-to-day task such as processing invoices, expense reports and grant disbursements. The Assistant Program Officer will also process small business grants.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review application materials, prepare draft award documentation letters or narratives.
  • Assist in grant writing and grant application review.
  • Create and process expense reports using Certify.
  • Review and process invoices and grant disbursements making sure that correct line item and funding sources are selected depending on purpose into NetSuite.
  • Creating grants and entering data into PA system.
  • Review grant compliance documents including financial statements, organizational documents, SAMS records, Form 990 and calculate basic financial ratios.
  • Make entries and run reports using access database and other reporting tools to check key performance indicators that awardees accomplished
  • Attended weekly Finance team, monthly staff meetings to learn more about the organization’s mission and activities including how we serve rural areas and low-income families.
  • Provide support to other Finance, Accounting, and Compliance tasks as assigned.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects and other assignments as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent relevant related work experience can be used as proxy
  • Be well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Has experience compiling large amounts of data into an easy-to-understand presentation.
  • Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, timely reporting, and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, writing, research, analysis, and relationship/team building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Power B&I, and other database systems preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

LISC offers a competitive salary ($57,200 –    $71,443).

Salary commensurate with experience and location and an excellent benefits package.

Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
