The position

The Asset Quality Director assists the Finance, ROC-NH, Welcome Home Loans and Business and Community (B&C) teams in managing the loan portfolio with active servicing, reporting, and monitoring for healthy performance. The person in this position will minimize portfolio risks by coordinating the cross-departmental credit-quality team’s policies and procedures, systems, and people, as well as overseeing loan servicing, modification requests, and workouts.


Major responsibilities/accountabilities

  • Provide back-up support to the B&C staff and lending program when needed.
  • Responsible for portfolio management.
  • Responsible for the monthly portfolio meeting: scheduling and facilitating meetings, supervising preparation of materials, and reporting on credit quality, asset quality, and trends.
  • Ensure the Community Loan Fund’s lending policy reflects current best practices and programs.
  • Work with program directors in monitoring loans.
  • Direct and support credit administration oversight in the program areas, including quality control of documents, disbursements, data systems, and reporting.
  • In consultation with program directors, manage portfolio delinquencies at an acceptable level through early identification of potential problems and assist in forming action plans to ensure long-term portfolio stability of the portfolio, as required for risk.
  • Support program directors as they enhance current products and services and plan new products and services to expand the organization’s mission impact and revenue.
  • Recommend and update system and technology improvements.
  • Oversee loan servicing software use.
  • Coordinate, along with senior managers, regular revision and approval of the Community Loan Fund’s Financing Policy and related procedures.
  • Lead the organization’s risk-management work by identifying, managing, and mitigating situations regarding risk, and assisting in the development of policies and procedures regarding same while leading a culture that can innovate and respond to opportunities in a timely way.
  • Ensure that all lending programs operate consistently and ethically within the Community Loan Fund’s values and mission, as well as in compliance with government regulation, industry standards, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process for lending programs and services, focusing on systems/process improvement and technology.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines including fair lending and ethical behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and experience

  • Five or more years’ experience in the banking, community development finance, or mortgage industries.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in performing the loan closing function.
  • Experience with loan origination software systems.
  • Familiarity with loan documentation and loan disclosures.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 2016 programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range starts at $80,000.

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund benefit package which includes medical and dental coverage, group life and disability options, health and dependent care, Flexible Spending Accounts and our 401(k) Plan upon completion of each plan’s eligibility requirements.

In addition, we offer vacation time and sick time and floating holidays.
