CDFI Locator Sees 336% Increase in Traffic Amid Pandemic

The CDFI Locator (Locator) is a valuable resource for finding CDFIs that can fulfill a wide range of specific needs for people and communities underserved by mainstream finance. OFN developed the CDFI Locator to help people quickly and easily connect with OFN member CDFIs based on 1) areas served by a CDFI, 2) the type of CDFI, and 3) the type of loans the CDFI offers. During the COVID-19 crisis, demand for CDFI services has grown substantially.
Over the last several months, the Locator has experienced a 336% increase in monthly visitors. Much of the increased traffic is due to an influx of small business owners and supporters directed to the Locator by external sources, including small business resource web pages of state and local governments as well as OFN corporate partners.
New CDFI Locator Filter
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, OFN recently added a new “Loan Program” filter to the CDFI Locator. This filter aims to make it easier to connect with CDFIs offering financing through specific programs like the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
In addition to the new Loan Program filter, OFN has developed a page for prospective CDFI clients and several infographics to help small business owners better understand and connect with CDFIs.

Due to the increased traffic to the Locator, we urge OFN members to review their listings on the Locator and confirm that the information displayed is accurate and up-to-date.
